Have to agree with Paul.I go to Cabo every year ,actually going for a week in Feb and 3 weeks in March. You have to check out Squid Roe,fun place, great strip clubs with great mileage and if you are a golfer the courses are outstanding

Cabo has much more action than Hutalco. More golfing, fishing, much bigger town. Great small resorts are Twin Dolphins, La Casa del Mar. There is whale watching right from the beach. The water is generally to cold for swimming until March.

Hutalco, really laid back, fantastic beaches, Hutalco consists of nine different bays, great swimming, and snorkeling. Fishing is so so. One golf course. Two fine hotels in the area. La Quinta, and damned if I haven't forgotten the name of the other one. Remember now it is called Zashilla. Anyhow it is at the far end of the beach Morrocan design, plus the beach is fairly private. Hutalco is for getting away from it all. Cabo is more of an action place. Hope this is helpful. GB

I agree with GB completely about Huatulco, with the exception of the fishing, but that's why it's called fishing not catching.!!! Had great fishing from small boat, low cost, leave from beach, lots of fun with very local guides. Espanol is needed more in H than LC.

GB,

Was there two years in a row in 03 and 04. Time was mid June, for work/play meeting. Went out three 1/2 day trips in a row, each year. Can't remember the hotel we stayed at, but larger Mexican chain, all inclusive on bigger bay. Fishing just 15- 20 minute ride out to "la linea", the line between the green inshore water and the blue offshore deep water. We caught sailfish every day, 3-6 on average, between 50 & 100 lbs. Just beautiful fish, catch and release. Also on one day each year got into tuna, holy cow. Both times all poles on boat hit, lines crossing, crazy fun. Fish about 25-50#, all kept. One year, had cancellation due to hang over of two guys, only two in boat with guide. Tuna hit on 5 poles all at once. Severe craziniess ensued. Got them all in by some magic, in about 45 minutes. Reset lines, 5 minutes later, same thing happens. We were whipped after that and had to go in as we were hungover also, just to a lesser degree. Landed boat on beach, got cook from hotel to come down and he took fish and fed whole convention group tuna prepared 5 different ways for lunch. Seriously best fish I have ever had. Great memories when I see this group every time.

Buz, sounds like you hit the jackpot! Never been to Hutalco in June. I think you probably statyed at the Barcelo Resort. Years ago it was a Sheraton one of the first in Hutalco. Tight lines.

Cabo is the place!

Been there a few years ago and the beaches are amazing, the bars, the woman who make the trek down from California and Arizona especially! It's really become a hot spot for celebrities and the Cabo Wabo Cantina owned by ex Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar is the best party bar in Cabo! Tell Jorge (Cabo Wabo Cantina manager) that I sent ya! Enjoy!:)

Berlin, I would say that LC is quieter than Cancun. Its been five years since I've been back to LC but Cancun seems to attract a younger party crowd. On the other hand LC attracts some young people, but quite a few golfers, off shore fishermen, and couples. The hotels seem to be a little more upscale in LC. However I did enjoy the beaches in the Cancun area. A lot of topless bathers. Every morning I would go for a walk down "mammary lane".

Bear, thanks for your info ! Any centre for youthful partying crowd would be the last thing I'd set foot in when traveling for leisure. From what I have seen on TV and from your info, LC definitely sounds cool.
