Yeah, I've heard about this (or similar) PCs before. Lightning fast doesn't describe them accurately.
As for the paint job, when modding was in it's heyday people were spending a heck of a lot than that......I saw one that was built to resemble the entrace to the complex in one of the older doom games. Complete with pneumatic revolving door......
