Decided to revisit this challenging layout earlier this evening by taking advantage of her twilight rate of $110. Asked Mariah what her course record was and she replied 4 under par. The beverage cart girl was unavailable to join... so we snuck a bottle of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot on the course.
Golf course architects describe Mariah as one of Ontario's prettiest golf courses available. Her first class accommodations and dining facilities are superb. This tight course has hilly man-made fairways with an elevated hole.
Gently rolling terrain and well-placed sand traps are all part of the challenge. She's not as easy as she appears. The course winds it's way among the tight fairways. Tough par 4's and holes featuring large tricky greens protected by large deep bunkers. Rolling terrain with open fairways and a smaller green that is moderately trapped.
Full tournament facilities. Memberships and green fees welcome. Semi-private. This mature course has played host to many provincial and national tournaments. Many natural hazards offer a good test of your game. Challenging yet affordable. A great alternative for your golfing pleasure.
A wonderfully sculpted hole proves that beauty is only skin deep. It is a tunnel of warm moisture where the slightest hook or shank will drive your score up the ladder. Designed to capture and reflect the spirit and elegance, the sweeping fairways drape naturally over this layout lets you use all the clubs in your bag. Front nine is open and the back nine is tight, with glorious vistas at every turn and creating a sense of timeless beauty and tranquility.
The Mariah course is always in excellent condition. Many natural hazards offer a good test of your game. I ended up being 4 under par tonight, apparently tying the course record. Golf is a very frustrating game because with just one more stroke... I could have set the course record. Oh well... that's golf. Time to clean off the Calloway driver and plan for my next course. If you're up to the challenge of this special mature course... make your reservations through the Terb handle "mariahmariah".
