I am happy to be single. I don't care for relationship. I know what is good for me.

Today I got invited to a family friend reunion gathering event. The hostes now lives in the states and wanted this. I went so did my parents, since they knew me from younger years.

Well at the event this hot girl shows up, and starts talking to me. I am like who is she and so on. And talked to me like 90% of my stay there.
After I left I started to realise that I was set up. This girl is good looking, smart at her job, but lacked self-esteem and was socially inept, did not interest me at all. Besides I notice her mom giving me the evil look.

As I gather the pieces together I realise hostess tried to match me with her. The funny part is the hostess likes to go to WEDDINGS. She is a serial wedding attender.

MAn some of the things people will do to go to weddings.

Now I am getting asked more if I am getting hitch in general.

Like what is wrong with woman over 55+?

Next time this happens I am going to say: ( as long as she not a family member) " are you asking me? you want me?"

what other lines do you suggest?

BTW the girl she set me up with I suspect she is a playette and leaning on the L side. Because there is NO WAY IN Heaven no man wants a woman who is good looking , excellent job, and can cook.

Consider yourself lucky. As a good male friend of mine noted , one of my problems, as a man in his forties, is that I have no connections that would do any matching up for me. It is a valid form of meeting women. Many women prefer this reather that meeting total strangers.

Tell anyone trying to set you up that you need to test drive and review their product first, find out if they're even worth dating.

Personally I have no problem with people trying to match me, I know they mean well.

Perhaps becuase I am so "unique" I have never been set up before...except once I think when I was about 17 at a wedding...anyways, nothing is more nerve wracking than having to meet someone new but also make sure you make a good impression without throwing to the curb or in the bed (or public washroom - whatever is available) because you know its going back to your friends.
