An attempt to dull the edge of Tim Horton's Roll-up-the-Rim campaign ? Do you have to buy anything or can I just divert through a MacD's drive through for a quick free coffee ?

Free Small Coffee, you do not have to purchase anything. Med are .50 and Large .75 where I go.

No purchase necessary. Kinda actually put a grin on my face walking out having bought zippo with a coffee in hand. Think I will return tomorrow!

I have to work every evening this week, and it's freaking freezing out there. I pass a McDonald's on my way to work and I went through the drive-thru, just ordering a coffee. Everyone was all smiles as they gave it to me, completely free! I'll probably get one every night!

To me this is a better promo than Roll up the Rim ....... no need to buy anything and everyone wins a coffee. And you can get as many as you want. McDs has done this the last couple years, right after TH does it's Roll up the Rim promo. Smart marketing ..... wait until everyone is pissed that they aren't winning nearly as much as they used to at Tims, then make everyone a winner. No cars or TVs but gives everyone a chance to see that they have what many feel is a better coffee.

You could run ditch-water through week old used grinds in a sweaty old sock and get better coffee than Tim's.

But have to admit, Rotten Ronnie's coffee isn't bad, especially as they give it away no strings attached quite frequently.

I've read somewhere McD's is using the same type of coffee as Tim's.

Edit: Found out it's actually McD's getting their coffee from Tim's former supplier. Tim went to a different slightly cheaper supplier a few years back.

Mother Parkers created the blend for and roasts McDonald's coffee. They used to do Tim's and they may still do some of Tim's.
