Is it true that the best way to store your precious images (like your 2 year old son) is to leave it on your camera's memory card? Apparently, the shelf life of a CD or DVD is only 5-10 years.

Even if a flash memory "dies", can't you bring it to Black's and ask them to revive the thing? Note: I am totally out of my technical depth here.

You can buy gold, archival grade CD's & DVD's. I believe these have an expected life of just over 20 years

I think Black's has a "99 year" gold CD, but it has not been experience rated yet.
