He is an intensely weird dude if the allegations are true.

Time has passed him by. He can't be a successful coach with his style any longerhttps://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/mike-babcock-resigns-blue-jackets-head-coach-1.6969776

I was thinking about this.I also heard the the folks at 'Spittin' Chiclets' were after him the minute he was hired back into the NHL.
If they were TERB members they'd know to have a burner phone with which to keep any sensitive material. LOLBut if he said give me your phone because I want to see what type of person you are. That's not kosher at all. Who knows what the hell is on there.
He never lost a game.Best Blue Jackets coach of all time.
It sounds like the allegations were probably more true than not. While Jenner and Gaudreau tried to make it sound normal....it obviously was a very weird thing to do. And if you're a youngster, the pressure to do what your coach asks, even if its something off-putting, is incredibly difficult to turn down. The fact that the NHLPA went to investigate, even after the team and Jenner downplayed it tells you something was rotten here.
As for Babcock...I remember thinking how amazing it was that he joined the Leafs....But, let's face it. He was a disaster. He alienated his players really quick. And the stories you heard from the Wings tells you that virtually everyone there hated him. Now, he had success. But lets look at the rosters he had in his various stops. I mean, winning a gold medal with the Canadian hockey team is a hell of a lot easier than running a re-building Leafs team...Not saying I could do it, but it would surely be easier with that depth of talent...
Basically, he's done like dinner. I cannot imagine him getting another coaching gig in the NHL. Maybe if he can rehabilitate his reputation by working in Junior and being a model coach...but even then, who would hire him?
