MLSE Buys the Arrrgoos ... What Next is MLSE going to buy the Blue Jays ?

I was thinking when I heard MLSE was going to buy the Argos from Bell and Larry Tanenbaum .. Are the Blue Jays next ?

Not unless the stadium issue is resolved. That's going to be the next major municipal battle. Rogers Center is obsolete.

When Bell/Tannenbaum bought the Argos in 2015, they were originally buying it through MLSE with Rogers onboard.
But Rogers backed out at the last minute.
You have to wonder what backroom deals have been made since then to change their mind.

I do believe mlb has a new rule that all teams going forward the majority shareholder must be an individual and not corporate owned .
Team decisions/spending can’t be affected by shareholders profitability
There goes bell,MLSEL and the teachers out the window

John Tory is on a spending spree. He will "accommodate" the Jays... probably the best time for the NFL to come here as well. He'll build them a stadium and probably seek consensus to provide a city-owned property at negligible cost.

The current Toronto City Council is simply spending money they don't have. The City Manager Peter Wallace is pleading for the current Council to use their better judgement but his warnings continue to fall on deaf ears.

Toronto will need to build 2 separate stadiums if they want a new place for the Jays to play and a home for an NFL team.

No one is playing in multi-use stadiums anymore (except Oakland...and that stadium's days are numbered)

I doubt there will be an NFL team here in the next 10 years anyways

I'm hoping Montreal gets a baseball team back
