Two in custody for violent armed robberies

York Regional Police have arrested two men suspected of staging violent armed robberies in Toronto and York Region going back to last March.

One suspect is still being sought.

The suspects are alleged to have robbed Chinese restaurants and massage parlours using handguns and knives.

In one incident in Markham, the suspects used a meat cleaver. In another, victims were sexually assaulted at a Toronto massage parlour.

Omar Dunchie, 23, of no fixed address, was arrested on Feb. 1.

Andrew Nelson, 20, of Brampton was arrested Thursday at his residence.

They face several robbery-related charges as well as sexual assault and wearing disguises with intent.

Julian Barrett, 25, of Brampton, is wanted by York Regional Police. He is described as 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds with a large afro. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Spa workers robbed


Three young employees of the Soft Hands Spa on Bramalea Road were robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night.

The women, two aged 19 and one aged 20 years, were rounded up inside the business by three men at approximately 11:50 p.m. One of the bandits was armed with a handgun, according to Peel police. They demanded cash and received money and cellular telephones from the victims.

The gunman is described as black, 5-foot-9, with a thin build, wearing a black toque, black coat and all black clothing. The second suspect is described as black, light-skinned, 6-foot, with a skinny build, wearing a black toque, a dark blue bandanna and dressed all in black. The third suspect is described as black, 5-foot-7, with a skinny build and dressed all in black. All three spoke with Caribbean accents, according to police.

I am glad to see that 2 were at least caught. That is great news
