Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, live-streamed as they murdered innocent civilian families, burned children alive, tortured captives before killing them, kidnapped hostages, and embedded themselves in the Gazan population, many of whom were complicit and/or supportive in the attacks and kidnappings. Hamas leaders hid in Qatar and said the Gazan civilians were necessary casualties to get sympathy from gullible westerners. The attacks could have ended if Hamas released the hostages. They did not.
