But more importantly, despite my position on religious freedom I definitely feel it should have its limits. In this dangerous world, authorities need to be able verify identities to protect society.

While I don't oppose the wearing of the niqab most of the time, when it comes to identifying a person for issuing a ticket, driver licence, passport, or approve citizenship (swearing in ceremony excepted), they must remove them momentarily for that sole purpose.

p.s. If a male cop pulled over a veiled woman who declined to remove it in front of an unknown man, he could have just got on the radio and got a woman cop in.
