Need advice, Toronto Starlets stole my photo!

Hi My name is Mel and I worked for this agency called Toronto Starlets, under the name MANDY, for a couple of days, approx. 1 yr ago, and they all of sudden have my photos up on there website and I don't even work there! I work with Julie from YOUR REQUEST whenever I can.

So my question is, does anyone have any advice for me, on how to get my pic's off of there website? I tried calling Toronto Starlets and they gave me some crap story about how they can't take them down right now cause they can't get a hold of the person who put them there cause he is supposedly is " out of town ".

It doesn't matter, why in hell would they use a picture of someone who doesn't work there? I think they have a word for this in this industry - Bait and switch

Just thinking if you don't want to draw attention to the photos where your face is being shown you might not want to post on the forum the website and name that they have posted them under until after they have been removed. It's very possible that they do not know how to update their own site and are trying to reach their site administrator in order to get this done, in the meantime drawing more attention is just going to increase the risk someone recognizes you.
Personally I'd delete the entire thread and have a lawyer contact them if it's not done within a reasonable amount of time.

that happened to an sp i know julia/jill she worked at starlets for a month and she kept bitching about them not taking her pics down till 4 months later?
also she told me as i was inquiring about crystal that most the pics Are b&s
that the pic looks nothing like her maybe plus 6 years,it might ve passed

Okay, here is the problem:

If they are not specifically saying she is working, they may have rights to the images. Specifically, if she signed a model release to let them use the images as they see fit, she might not have any comeback on them.

If she never signed a model release, then a DMCA style notice to the company and it's webhost will get the image removed pretty quickly on a normal basis, otherwise they will have much liablity.

She has to be careful though. If she signed away rights on the image, she might not be able to stop them using it in general site design. If they are suggesting that she is available to work, then she should get a lawyer to send them a cease and desist, as claiming she is working when she is not is fraudulent and can cause her issues.

Find a lawyer.

If it were me I would ask ...

In addition I would request that members please flag Toronto Starlets ads on CL at http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/search/ers?query=8459&minAsk=min&maxAsk=max

Of course that is just me. I would not expect you to substitute my judgment for your own.

Until they either take the picture down or they respond to this thread with a responsible explanation and an apology.

If you promote your business by putting her picture up and leaving them after the lady has long left your employ then you leave yourself open to be accused of bait and switch. It really is just that simple.

Is there pictures up on the site of any other girls that have not been working for a long duration of time. I can only imagine a girl retires and is out of the business and hopes that all her pictures are gone from the net and cannot do it because she has pictures on a site that is not even her web page. There should be consideration for such cases. It is only the right thing to do, to make sure that pictures are not up upon retirement and/or leaving.

B&S or not it does not make your company look like a considerate or professional class act.

In the past year, I have had many terbies use my agency even though most haven't posted any reviews and I promise you that none of them can accuse me of any bait and switch as they got what they ordered. Mandy lied to me and said she was going to the U.S on vacation and she would be back and thats why her pictures are still up, then I got a call from her last week saying she is not in the business anymore and to take the pictures down which I told her will be done this coming week and then I hear about it again on this thread....

Your request, maybe you can post it here once they are down as I am very busy to be running back and fourth for Mandy!

Get yourself in a public jam so now you accuse the employee -- classy. Really if she was going to be away for awhile, why wouldn't you take them down and put them up when she got back. From what I can tell from this thread she hasn't been with you for over a year, considering the transient nature of this business one would have expected you to get the message she wasn't coming back sooner but hey what do I know.

Now you make it seem that this has happened over a short period of time when clearly it hasn't. This kind of practice is dishonest.

As someone who has had a variety of experiences with Toronto Starlets, let me say a word on their behalf. Escorts come and go in Toronto. They work a few days or weeks, and then "poof," they are gone.

Sometimes they show up again at the same agency. Sometimes they bounce around from one agency to another. Sometimes they work independently.

It must be an incredible headache to try to maintain an up-to-date agency website, esp. if you don't do the computer work yourself. There are many agencies besides Toronto Starlets that make their changes only rarely.
Hollywood, my favorite agency in Toronto until its demise, often featured escorts who had not worked in ages, and might or might not return.

Seems Tyson of TS has been quite reasonable and forthcoming here. And he is correct that Your Request does not even have a website, an odd state of affairs for a bona fide agency. Clearly this snafu with Mandy will be remedied. And it's not very important. In fact, it's extra free publicity for Mandy.

All I have to say about Mandy is Good things, she is very attractive and very good at what she does and thats one of the reasons I was hoping for her return from her long vacation........lol, but I wish her and Your request the best and I can assure all terbies that Mandy is a sweetheart!
