My Dolphins once again drafted a flop in the first round.
Atlanta took a QB after signing Kirk to 3 years for a ton of guaranteed money. I get planning for the future and getting a QB on the cheap, but kinda makes no sense. NFL is a win now league.
A ton of offensive players taken in the first round. 14 straight offensive players to start the first round.
What's Buffalo's plan? Trade out twice in the first round. They must believe it's a deep draft.

My Bengals picked a guy who could either be a bust or a star. A 6'8" 340lb. OT sounds good, but he has limited playing experience in college. At least they are showing Burrow they are serious about protecting him.

Bigger concern with these very big guys, their bodies break down pretty quick.

They got 2 very good lineman. That helps the run game which they need to take pressure off the QB.
These linemen are too tall, Russ Wilson won't be able to see over them
Steelers generally don't do well with short QBs, even with Kordell Stewart who is 6'1, Russ is only 5'11 on a good day

The Bears had the best draft. Getting Rome Odunze at 9 was a steal.
I thought Atlanta made the right call taking Penix Jr. at 8. Kirk will be 36 this August. Personally I think their most pressing need is OL help but having Alt and Latham go ahead of them made their decision that much easier. The only problem with that is throughout the ret of the draft they didn't take one offensive linemen - they took 3 DT's, 2 LB's, 1 RB and 1 WR. Silly.

Los Angeles Chargers 2024 NFL Draft Picks:

  • Round 1, Pick 5: Notre Dame OT Joe Alt
  • Round 2, Pick 34: Georgia WR Ladd McConkey
  • Round 3, Pick 69: Michigan LB Junior Colson
  • Round 4, Pick 105: Alabama DT Justin Eboigbe
  • Round 5, Pick 137: Maryland CB Tarheeb Still
  • Round 5, Pick 140: Notre Dame CB Cam Hart
  • Round 6, Pick 181: Troy RB Kimani Vidal
  • Round 7, Pick 225: USC Brenden Rice
  • Round 7, Pick 253 (compensatory pick): Michigan WR Cornelius Johnson
Chargers did very well...Joe Alt is a huge OT...Harbaugh is going to run the ball this year.

Brenden Rice is Jerry Rice's son. Hopefully the pedigree translates to the pro game.

Kinda doubtful considering he didn't go until the 7th round. But at that point worth the shot. Even if he is 1/4 of what his dad was.

Some NFL team should sign a couple of Japanese Sumo wrestlers, and put them on the weak side of their offensive line. They wouldn't need to have any prior football experience. A Sumo wrestling match is almost identical to pass blocking.

Teams are starting to look at Rugby players. Might be a wise decision considering the new kickoff rule.
