I don't know if anybody else would be interested, but apparently Cogeco has some sort of deal going on for those of you who have digital cable. (It's probably the same - or similar - for the other cable providers in Ontario as well...but I haven't personally checked).
Anyways, for 26.99 a month you can get ALL the sports packages. NHL, NFL, MLB, NBA, NCAA Football and Basketball, NASCAR, and OHL Hockey.
(That's the first I've heard of the OHL Package, but I guess there's 380 regular season and playoff games being televised. Which is great for those of us who reside in the smaller Ontario cities, like myself.)
There's a minimum 6 month contract, and I'm seriously considering getting it. Think about it : If I subscribe in early October and cancel in April that would only be about 210 bucks for 7/8 months. During that time period I'd have the entire NHL season covered, plus the whole seasons of NFL, NBA, NCAA, and the OHL. Add in the last couple months of NASCAR (plus the first couple months for the next season of NASCAR) and that's a dam pretty good deal. Especially considering NHL Center Ice by itself is 180~200 bucks.
But dam, that's a lot of sports programming. How much sports can one guy watch? And unfortunately I'm the type of guy who would think "I'm paying for it, so I better watch it" and I'd end up hunkered down in front of my tv for half the year. That'd be one deep ass groove in my recliner by the time April comes around.
p.s. NO, I don't work for Cogeco
