I've always been amazed by the diversity of topics and well formed opinions expressed in this forum and I'm hoping to gain a little insight into the workings of the automobile insurance industry in Canada. A close friend was inexcusably driving without coverage the other morning and was involved in a traffic accident. The blame lies entirely with the other motorist who was cited at the scene for several infractions. Fortunately, nobody was injured. She claims that under Canada's "No Fault" provision, she is solely responsible for repairs to her vehicle. Two questions... Is she correct and should she seek the advice of legal counsel regarding her citation for lack of insurance? Any advice would be appreciated.
