No More Carding?

Good.Will crime increase? Will solved crimes drop? Will crime decrease? Will more crimes be solved?
This isn't related to carding, but its related to racist cops.
Hopefully we never see this kind of crap up here.

There's no evidence that carding is helpful in any way to with reducing crime. Police have nothing to present in terms of evidence to prove the contrary.
I'm glad John Tory isn't letting the tail (McCormick and Black Top Cop) wag the dog.

Obviously carding can be carried to far,...but is still a useful tool.

Really, when was the last time you were carded? I've never been carded in my life, not walking, driving or anywhere in the city of Toronto.
Here's an idea...instead of carding, work with the community to help solve the issues that plague it, which is why carding became a thing.

Here's the thing. Whenever a young black male is shot by another young black male nobody in the community says anything to help the police. Mark Moore shot 4 young black males to death and nobody saw nothing (that is just one of many examples).
BTW: The police know my name and where I live because I ask them to keep an eye on my house, where possible, when I am out of town.
When I was a child (in simple times) growing up in Northern Ontario the beat cop knew everybody on his beat by name. Shouldn't the people tasked with protecting us (i.e. the police) have a right to know who they are protecting?
Speaking of idiot... howzabout just dropping the word "black" altogether? It's entirely unneccessary and adds nothin of value to the discussion (kind of like your posts). The dude's race has no bearing or relevance whatsoever, and your attempt to imply that the fact that he's black somehow lends his opinion in this one particular matter extra weight is racist bullshit of the lowest order.
As the police no longer track crime statistics by race due to activists how can there be?

Skyrider's last paragraph says it all. The only difference is it was officially condoned and given guidelines. Now it will just go back to being underground.
I've said this before. Camera all the cops and tape the interactions. We have reached the point where citizens use the cameras all the time to catch the cops anyway. So I don't have an issue with the cops doing the same thing.
There's no place for racially based harassment in an open society. Mayor Tory changed his mind on the issue, which is encouraging, and the Council will follow. The TPS and the Chief better get with the program and remember who they work for.
This is an excellent idea but the problem is that it requires more effort than the police and govt. are willing to expend.
