I am at the point on buying a new comp.I am confuesed on what way to go,desktop/note book.What is the best deal around today on either desktop or laptop.Any recomendations?

Would you use it at home mainly? or on the go?
Because if at home, you can build a REALLLY REALLLY REALLY great computer for a price, that even a modest laptop couldn't compare to.
If you're on the go, then laptop.
But if you can handle just using it at home, get one built and you'll get a really crazy, sick (good thing), computer.
As long as you go AMD dual-core, for a chip.
