Still have a national anthem it seems every time it's being sung at a game they keep changing the lyrics. Somebody should print out oak Canada so that someone can read from it properly.

Given the comments from the orange trash bag, I got no problem with this. Chantel did a great job on the anthem. More heart than the over hype production US anthem.

Not a fan of changing the lyrics.
Just one minor change..
From "true patriot love in all of us command" to "true patriot love that only us command"

If I was at that game I would have booed- because she did a terrible job. I don't like it when these self righteous singers get on a soap box and change a national anthems lyrics. She disgraced the rest of the anthem at times changing the melody with weird vocal gymnastics.

On the other hand I thought whomever that hot MILF was did a fantastic job singing the Star Spangled Banner with her beautiful opera voice.
Strongly disagree. This is a unique moment in time when our sovereignty is being threatened by a fascist soon to be dictator. She had every right to make a statement.

Hey buddy, nice try but in that sentence it's whoever.

Very nice, maybe the words should be changed to this. Maybe the Orange Pus Boil watched this and was enraged.

If DW (German CBC) is reporting this, there must be some truth to it.

I actually didn't mind it - and love CK especially her earlier work. I don't know why but Lola Young reminds me her.

Yeah, I agree, and I'm struggling with this one.

On the one hand, I thought it was an masterstroke of Canadian passive-aggression, but on the other hand I think changing the lyrics of an anthem you've been tasked to sing is fucking ridiculous and big-time self-aggrandizing.

It's not the first time this has happened either.

Roger Doucet, a Montreal singer, would sometimes change the words from "we stand on guard for thee" to the extremely American sounding "we stand on guard for rights and liberty" before Habs games, and another singer -- I think it was Sarah McLachlan -- would sing "love keep our land" (the "god" reference is my least favourite part of the anthem, as an atheist, but still) both of which are cringey as fuck in my book.

In short, just sing the anthem the way it was written.

I'll give her and her husband and someone called Gaby Moreno credit for writing this song.
Outside of that, don't know that much about her.

GTA & Thereabouts...
I cringed when she sang... But I had a massive crush on her in my younger years. She's and artist and did some art. Good with the bad. I support Chantal 100%. At least she did something.

I thought the lyric change was appropriately aimed at the orange turd who is threatening our sovereignty. I approve of her lyric, but wish she had sung the traditional arrangement of the melody because the 3000 Canadians who were trying to sing along had a tough time with her unique phrasing.
