So...
I was on a phone chat line last Friday morning. I hit it off with a woman who lives not too far from me. We exchanged phone numbers.
I didn't get around to calling her until this afternoon. It goes to voicemail. It's definitely her voice, but the name is different. No biggie. I use my real first name on the line, but tons of people don't. Then she mentions a man's name. I'm assuming significant other based on they way she spoke, but I can't be certain as no titles were mentioned. I certainly did not leave a message.
Question: Why oh why would someone give out their home number (I did a reverse lookup and it does go back to a residential address) when they are living with someone else?
Any insight?

Maybe they just broke up and she hasn't yet changed the voicemail message. That might also explain why she's on a phone chat line.

Or maybe they're just roommates?

Same as when guys call from a landline that is shared with their family for service. Why the heck would anyone do that?! I get it often enough, and when they dont show, guess how I found out it was a shared line...

You didn't leave a message. Why? Was it to avoid an uncomfortable situation?
If she was worried about an uncomfortable situation I don't think she would have given you a number that is sensitive.
Call back and leave a message. If she already has a boyfriend then you obviously don't need the trouble.

Good points! I left a message. We'll see what happens!

Leave a reasonably non-descript message. Give your name, say you're sorry you missed her, that you enjoyed speaking with her the other day, and to call you when she's back. Do not give your reason for calling. If a man calls you back say you have a great vacation package and would he be interested?

She may not be living with anyone.... many single females will a) use a male name in the phone book and/or b) mention a male name in the voice mail to help deter predators looking for single women.
