Forget about the debate between Oden and Durant...I've been following this kid play in Greece and now as a freshamn in Ohio State replacing Oden and I'm thinking he may be even better than Oden...

Recently named the MVP in the Under 19 Basketball Championships where Greece lost to Spain.

Offensively no match Koufos is better and even Thad Matta stated this...Looks like he'll be another one year and off to the NBA as a projected #1 pick from what I have read..

Word is two major clubs in Greece one being Panathainakos opened the vault for him but Kosta declined wishing to play a year in college...

Start your debate, both 7 foot centers but Kosta can hit the three's, dribble, and can post or face up his opponent

Offensively there are a handful of centres that were ahead of Greg Oden. Defensively they are no match. Koufos was not particularly effecitve on this end. I really like his game, but Oden has a chance to be a legendary defensive stopper. Koufos has a chance to be an average defender in the middle... at best. That being said I really like Koufos... I have seen him twice this year.

Koufos is a projected top 10 pick, but you are stretching to claim that he is the projected #1 overall pick.

There is an amazing crop of freshmen in the NCAA this year. Micheal Beasley from Kansas St. is in the #1 position right now... avg 30 pts / 20 reb through three games.

The other star freshmen are Kevin Love, Derrick Rose, Eric Gordon.

It is bar none the best freshmen class I have ever seen. Numbers wise, nothing has ever come close to this group.

O.J Mayo is overrated IMO, but yeah he's good and he belongs in this group. Let's remember however that Mayo is 20 years old, and has always been 2 years older then the class he has been compared to.

All valid points....Maybe I'm alittle bias being Greek also...LOL. Kinda put him with Bargnani who went #1 a couple years ago. Should be interesting how the season plays itself out.
