Google lockpicking and you'll understand how it works. Picking locks isn't all that difficult. And these bump keys are pretty much how locks get picked.

I think they showed how people can order the keys off the internet. Or perhaps all you need is your own key cutter. There are some bump-proof locks out there that don't work on the old saw tooth design.

No wonder Canada has a higher property crime rate then all the UNited States .hard to believe but very true !

Alarm systems will be booming now the more the message gets across

but i still think a a few nasty dogs should take care of any breakins

Maybe I missed something but how do you get a bump key? I mean I know one guy showed 10 keys that would open 90% of home locks, but it is still a matter of getting a set of keys, right????

Many contractors & subcontractors have 2nd keys to do service new homes. Supposedly, once new home owner use their 'master' key, the pin in lock drops out, disables secondary keys. I know someone with their contractor entered their home, without prior approval.

Alarm is deterrant but too many false alarms, people ignore them.

Best protection, a guard dog.

I'll worry when these keys can disable alarm systems.:p
You really think that is a good way to keep people out?

Tell me what the response time of your local LE is to an alarm.

There was this movie with John Travolta...He had a doorbell that triggered an audio recording of dogs barking. Anyone know where i can get somethin like that?

that is a novety

You will note that the 20 seconds of barking will not be triggered by a knock.

No scrathing at the door or window. An experienced thief will head on in.

If somebody wants to get in, they will get in regardless of alarm or if they have a Bump key.

I have been lucky so far but a few of my friends have been very happy with the response of the company and LE.

Are you implying that alarm systems are no deterrent and a waste of money?

I am saying that a professional in 4 minutes can be in and out of your house or business. My guess is LE response time is between 7 to 11 minutes in most areas. Also take a look at your second floor windows and the motion dectors in the 2nd floor halls. Guess what, you keep a ton of stuff in your bedrooms on a floor without alarm points.
