I browse terb at work using my LTE connection on my smartphone. I don't use any of the wired or wireless networks available at work as all internet activity at work is logged and stored.

It takes seconds to open terb check updates and close it down on a good mobile phone...it is part of my routine to check terb, twitter, news, emails, text messages etc...I do it everywhere....just disable signatures images and keep the mobile page running and keep your screen dimmed. To close terb browser switch to another app such as twitter takes literally fraction of a second...to answer your question I check it everywhere if front of who ever is there...I don't care and they should not be looking at what I am doing as long as I can keep up with the task at hand such as talking, enjoying dinner or brushing my teeth it should be okay. As part of my routine I am just catching up on the news of the day and terb happens to be a part of the routine along with 10 other apps. No work pace has the right to disturb you during your break time or lunch hour. They have no right to check up on you or ask what you are doing and is a violation of your privacy and human rights. As long as your are using your own resources such as a smart phone during lunch hour or breaks nobody can or should take this from you. There is nothing illegal about browsing terb forums and looking at information. There is a process in place if anybody tries this shit on you, don't take it lightly and take action.

What's the diff btw when you get caught spending an hour on terb vs spending an hour on shopping sites / kijiji / gossip sites?

You have to be kidding! Besides breaching standard professional workplace conduct, browsing an escort review site can be construed as sexual harassment. Let's say a female colleague notices you browsing terb, then files a complaint with HR because she found it offensive and created a hostile work environment for her. This immediately triggers a sexual harassment complaint. Browsing CNN, eBay or kijiji is not going to lead to a sexual harassment complaint.

Yes this holds true for using work reasorces. However nobody has the right to take your phone from you or investigate your phone. Obviously you will not pull terb up when people are looking over your shoulders or can view your screen. It's a shame how much the employees get bullied by employers...little do they know about their rights. How is somebody going to know if I am looking at reviews of my fave MPAs or looking at a recipe to make cupcakes or setting up a date with my sugar baby while on my lunch hour using my own phone?

Not on my office computer, on my personal device in my office that's a slightly different matter. Cross pollination /contamination is not good.

Your employer has the right to frogmarch you out of the office if you're surfing the internet at work. Doesn't matter if it's your own phone, just like it doesn't matter if it's your own newspaper or novel you're reading at your desk.
