I have honestly wonder WTF we need a schoolboard for every ass crack town in Ontario.

The boards should be part time positions, with the actual treasurer position appointed by the province on a rotating basis. I think this would attract a better quality of people who don't see it as a stepping stone to other elections.

I dunno…after reading the article it certainly seems there have been some isolated incidents of inappropriate spending…it also looks to me like the government is using this as an excuse/opportunity to seize control of local school boards.

Its also true that high schools in Ontario are suffering cuts, maintenance problems and that its like DoFo is doing this to make public education worse so people spend more on private schools. Same as he does with health care.
