May 11, 2010 (MADISON, Wis.) (WLS) -- Squatters have taken over a foreclosed home in Wisconsin claiming that housing is a basic human right.
A group called Operation Welcome Home reportedly admits breaking the law.
It took over the home in Madison two weeks ago and changed the locks.
A woman and her children now live there.
The property is scheduled to be sold through a bank sale next week, but the group says the house is already paid for because Bank of America, which owns the mortgage, received billions of dollars in federal bailout money.
Police say they can't get involved unless the owner files a trespassing complaint.

I heard some discussion on the radio about this. What makes people think that housing is a human right? That they can just move into a house and claim it as their own? I know some will say that big banks own the houses and they are empty so why not?
It pisses me off that some people want to give away what the rest of us have to work so hard to get. If you think someone needs help...YOU give to them. Don't ask me or worse yet, force me to give charity. I'll decide how I want to help others...which I don't do as much any more because the goverment keeps taking more and more out of my wallet to help those who can't/won't help themselves.
