That's the phrase I have heard from multiple escorts that I have seen in the past few weeks. In addition, I have heard other escorts, who formerly frequently toured Ottawa, that it just doesn't make sense financially to continue coming to Ottawa, booking a hotel, and bumping their ad multiple times a day if the demand is this low.

Has anyone else heard similarly or is this a one off anecdote from my personal observations?

Ottawa has a two level slow season

Sep - Dec it starts slowing down and then Dec -May it’s VERY SLOW

We are a city that thrives on tourism/ travel which is mainly during the summer

You also have to look at the current financial situation of many Canadians rn too… (which is a whole separate thing)

Not everyone is slow, but it’s common at this time for it to be slower

Ottawa is Ottawa! It's not only slow, it is a "boring city", in every aspect. And this affects the hobby world.
Touring providers are truly slowing their visits to Ottawa because it's not worth it.
Only major city in North America with no agency.
With a complicated hobby environment/systems/culture!

It's been like that for a few years now and it's reaching new heights.

Can't stay silent on the problem of "No-Show": it's getting bigger and bigger against touring providers. Why would they come here?
Easy to see, as an example, Sexy Judy came early in September and had 4 no-show on the same evening (https://terb.cc/xenforo/threads/not-1-not-2-not-3-but-4.899178/); why would she come back?
Well, she was planning to be back in Ottawa this weekend, she cancelled it.
True assholes or competitions?
There's nothing

I don’t think it an Ottawa thing entirely. There’s a lot going on in the world right now. I have noticed that there is a lot more advertising on Tryst lately. When I first started this hobby a year ago there was 70-80 ads for Ottawa to look at and it’s now over 110 now. I see a lot of Montreal based girls advertising in Ottawa now as an option and I see more ads about people visiting other cities that they wouldn’t normally visit is increasing. Also several girls that never advertised on Leo are doing so now also. Girls that were independent are going back to clubs. There is an obvious reason for all this.

I’m not defending Ottawa by no means, but there are multiple reasons IMO.

That is the view of many providers I've seen from Toronto / Montreal. They don't visit Ottawa, or plan to but don't get the adequate number of pre-bookings to make the trip worthwhile.

This has been the case for the last few years.

I wouldn't make any assumptions based on the number of ads on Tryst. I've noticed what you're describing, but I think it's more a case of Montreal and Toronto providers listing Ottawa as one of their base locations more commonly in the past year or so. Rarely do they end up actually coming to Ottawa except for their touring dates. I think it's just to drive up engagement with their social media profiles and funnel them into their online content - and for the off chance that someone looks them up and schedules a FMTY.

I completely understand why it's a smart business move, but it does get confusing sometimes trying to parse through people actually based in the city and those who are not. Perhaps Tryst needs to re-work their website to add a "Include FMTY" as an option when searching for a particular city to avoid this confusion.

This could be a reflection of the rates / economy as well. Ottawa is not a city with a booming economy so as rates keep ticking up interest or ability to book frequently will trend downwards. 500-700 an hour is a harder stretch to get multiple clients a day here than it would be in Montreal or Toronto. There are fewer of us that can afford it. I know for me the mental barrier of paying 500 for an hour has frequently brought me back to my senses as opposed to letting the other brain make the decision.

If I’m investing that much I stick to sure things rather than gambling in the unknown.

1) Biggest employer is threatening to lay people off. People are scared, are saving their money.
2) Less new immigrants. These tend to be younger men, either single or away from their wives, with many getting paid under the table.

So there is just less money going around in Ottawa for hobbying.

In terms of no new younger girls, ... OF's numbers are skyrocketing. I'd guess that in a few years, when AI porn takes over, we'll be flooded with new girls.

Prices are also a factor.
I can't explain a semi-independent provider MA/SP asking for 450 or 500 an hour in Ottawa and then working in TO for an escort agency that charges 250 an hour.
Same thing in Montreal, amazing talent and service under 300/hr

for me prices have sky rocketed and restrictions have skyrocketed, and salaries have remained stagnant
also prices have gone up and and quality has gone down, and the few sp's I used to frequently see have most retired , am I willing to risk 500/ hr over multiple sp's to see who I click with ?
i don't think so, i'd rather same my money and buy a small plane, which I have actually done !!!

I've been in the hobby for quite some time now, seen the many changes from back then till now. I saw my first escort back in 2009 when we had those ads in the newspapers. Back then there wasn't as good of options for Asians, but for Caucasian options were booming. We even had a few agencies offering prime young talent. Pink Kitty was one of those agencies. Fast forward to today, we all have to account that Canada isn't doing too good financially and especially more in Ottawa. Make sense that younger and more popular women aren't going to stay or visit here when they know the money is else where. I'll speak for myself as someone seeking on LL nowadays. I don't see many good options available and if there is they are charging way too much compared to when they first entered the industry. Even for the high end Asian agencies now, we're getting the recycled girls that are mediocre.

Don't you notice what is happening with the MA scene. When was the last time the spa introduced a new attendant who required training. The industry is failing to attract young talent.
Actually, Hush was promoting training duos starting Thursday for a new MA about 20 minutes before you posted this.

THIS!!!!
So true, that's the reason why I started to hobby in Montreal, rather than wasting my time here in Ottawa with unnecessary overpriced services.

Even more, in the last year, a girl here in Ottawa offered me to meet in Montreal for $250 while she wanted to charge me $500 for the same service here. She clearly told me that it's the market prices. Definitively, there is something in the air...

This conversation has taken an interesting turn. With all this I am reminded of what I was once told by a provider in another city. She said “I don’t come to Ottawa because when I do I’m inundated with texts from other providers that she isn’t charging enough.” At the time I thought she was just bragging to me about her rates, but reading all this I’m wondering if it wasn’t a deeper routed commitment.

I used to visit a SW once a month. But for the last two years I visited a SW once every 4 months. I had to cut back because my expenses have skyrocketed, especially after I had to renew my mortgage at a much higher interest rate. And, anecdotally, it seems to me that SW rates have gone up quite a bit in the last two years in Ottawa. So unfortunately I definitely cannot afford as many visits as I would like because of the current economy.
