well seeing that the Corel Centre is about 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa, maybe i worded the question the wrong way, just wanted to get a good idea of a decent hotel for a closet Sens fan making a first time trip to a game.

I believe the new hotel on Terry Fox Dr. is called Brooks Street! You would be better off to stay downtown & take a Sens shuttle from a nearby bar.

Ok...maybe make our life easy and define decent.

You could stay at the Chateau Laurier..it's decent, but expensive! We usually put our VIP visitors up at this hotel

Glava,

The Brookstreet Hotel is actually on Leggat Drive running parallel to March Road. It's extremely high-end and approximately 10 minutes to the Corel Centre. First-class all the way.

I will be in Ottawa in a couple of months, staying at the Chimo Hotel just off of St-Laurent. Where is the best entertainment from there?

Really, is it any good? And what way would I walk, north..... south...?

The Nuden is usually decent. You would go south(left) on St. Laurent Blvd. over the 417 highway & up the hill. It is just past Belfast Rd. behind the new adult novelty store.

Diamonds, BareFax, Playmate...

Take a taxi and go to Diamonds!

LOL. Hey GlavaMan... come on we all know the best darn SC anywhere is Diamonds! LOL.

After you get warmed up at Daimonds head over to BareFax for some real heat and then on the way home finish off at Playmate.

Now we are talking.

Diamonds = my second home...

Hey... I was just making an inside joke with GlavaMan cause he knows that Diamonds is one of my old haunts when I use to live in Ottawa.

Having said...

I think that it's a case of YMMV. I use to 'live' at Diamonds back in mid to late '90s. Then I moved back to Toronto. When I went back for a visit a couple years later some of the girls did remember me and were more then happy to be 'nice' to me. You are right though... for the most part it is known as a 'no touch' SC. I still love the place though. Lots of fond memeries from there.

TheNiteHwk knows the scene well!
Diamond's is a good club. It's been well over a year since I was offered only a $10 non-contact dance. Since then, every dance has been the $20 'petting zoo' type. In fact, it's been a long time at any SC in Ottawa since I was not offered a contact dance. The one problem with Diamond's is the 2-3 min 'canned songs' in the VIP that are different from the music on stage. Also, mixed drinks(Rye & Ginger etc) are served in a very small glass so you drink them very quickly. I suggested the Nuden to Kelkor since he will be within walking distance of the Chimo Hotel. One good thing about the SC's here is that there is none of the ripoff VIP fees that we see in the GTA.
