In message board tech language you'll encounter terms like "Parent forum" and "Child forum". It does not mean that the "Child forum" has anything to do with children. A Child forum is just another term for a sub-forum. I think if you search at www.vbulletin.com you'll encounter the term "Child forum".
I just thought I would clarify since someone had PMd me and they seemed troubled by the fact they had encountered the term "Child forum " while searching this site.
