How do you do this this is what I tried....

1) right click on folder
2) clikc on sharing and secuirty

But.... I can't select the box to make it private.

I'm basically trying to make a folder in my external HD private.

Now I hide the folder (using the properties option) but have the problem of.... how do I find the folder?!!!???

Man all this trouble to hide porn..... I basically want to be able to take the external over to a female friends place to share some files with her but obviously don't want to have her stumble upone a bunch of raunchy vids.

Okay I figured out how to make it so that I can "see" the folder again.

Using folder options, view, the selecting the option to show hidden

So the only question remains how can I lock the folder?

If you are going to be with her while you share your other files then perhaps rename the folder. Or create a bunch of dummy folders within each other (like one of those Russian dolls) that eventually contain your folder that have the vids.

Forget trying to hide stuff like that:

Folder Lock is a fast file-security program that can password-protect, lock, hide and encrypt any number of files, folders, drives, pictures and documents in seconds. Protected files are hidden, undeletable, inaccessible and highly secure. It hides files from kids, friends and co-workers, safeguards them from viruses, trojans, worms and spyware, and even protects them from networked PCs, cable users and hackers. Files can also be protected on USB Flash Drives, Memory Sticks, CD-RW, floppies and notebooks. Protection works even if files are taken from one PC to another on a removable disk, without the need to install any software. It locks files in Windows, DOS and even Safe Modes. Additional Options include Stealth Mode, Hacker Attempt Monitoring, Shred files, AutoLock, Auto Shutdown PC, Lock your PC, Erase PC tracks, 256-bit Blowfish Encryption and Context Menu in Explorer. It is Windows Vista/2003/XP/2000/NT/Me/98/98S compatible and works on all kinds of disk types like FAT16, FAT32, NTFS. Folder Lock is the most downloaded file-security program in the market today.

Install truecrypt/folderlock and mount the encrypted volume when you need it. Works like a charm and yup, it's free.

It's easier to create another partition and make that hidden. Use Partition Magic or some other drive management software. You can store all your goatse and tubgirl stuff there.

Why not rename the files? Give them the names of movies starring Jude Law, and you're guaranteed that no one will want to see them.
