NEW YORK CITY -- Apple's iPhone 6 will likely be out next Tuesday, but people are already camping out since last Sunday at the company's flagship store in Manhattan - and some of them are being paid to do so.

Joseph Cruz told QMI Agency that he has stood in line every time a new iPhone model has come out in the past five years, and estimates he's made $7,000 from the venture. This time, he's being sponsored by BuyBackWorld.com. In exchange for wearing their logo and saying a few nice things about them, the company is paying for Cruz's camping equipment, his meals and two new iPhones.

"I look at this an opportunity," said Cruz, who hopes to break the record by camping out for 20 consecutive days.

Cruz and his cousin were first in line, but a company called VideoMedicine paid them $2,500 to let Moon Ray and her husband have the one and two spots.

"We're taking advantage of the media attention to promote VideoMedicine, a service that allows people to speak with a doctor via Skype," Ray told QMI Agency.

The Fifth Avenue Apple store is open 24 hours a day, and is allowing those lined up to use their washrooms. If they need a shower, there's a YMCA that's a couple of blocks away. People sleep in sleeping bags while reclined in beach chairs and charge their iPhones using a solar charger.
