There is some value in the thought of curtailing our consumption of seafood.
Not to PETA's standards or reasons but there is some value.
Many stocks are depleting and many of our fav species are gaining mercury.
My buddy is a fish monger and I am a huge fish consumer.
To name a few...
Chilean Sea Bass near extiction but amazingly readily available
Tuna and Shark have increasing levels or mercury
Natural Salmon fisheries are dwindling and showing higher levels of toxins
I'm not saying stop, I'd personally prefer not to stop eating fish. All I can suggest is move your groove and try new species. If we focus on the same fish all of the time we will find that it doesn't exist anymore like the Turbot and Burbot issue.
Eat fish, try different kinds, different ways. Not a pun.
Monkfish is awesome in a broth fondue BTW.
