This series would have attracted large crowds. I wonder if the businesses this directly affects will be able to claim some form of compensation? Who gets $ from the concession stands?

The game could also have been offered to other Canadian cities, such as Montreal. The Jazz festival opens at the end of June & i'm sure baseball returning to Mtl for a weekend series would have attracted a considerable crowd. Anyways, it sucks! Why couldn't it have happened with teams like the Royals were in town?

And fuck you Steven Harper & the other incompetent world leaders!

(Why fuck you Paul Beeston? I'm certain that this was the last thing he wanted.)

Beeston is the president of the ballclub. He would have had to sign off on this.

There were many other/better options available:

PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Comerica Park in Detroit, Progressive Field in Cleveland, even Olympic Stadium in Montreal, or Coca-Cola Park in Buffalo would have been better choices.

All closer to Toronto, and more accessible for Blue Jays fans.
All of the ballparks I listed are empty the weekend of the Jays/Phillies series.

Now, Now. No need to curse, it's just another Toronto Professional team "cough" that would disappoint that weekend. LOL

All 15000 fans;) Sorry man, I couldn't resist. However, they could have played in Hamilton at Bernie Arbour Stadium it hold 1000.

In reality, Buffalo would have been a good compromise.

Montreal supporting a TO team, I hear crickets in the stadium.

HOF, if Montreal is such a great city, why do you live in the armpit of Toronto (a city [and its sports teams] that you deride at nearly every given opportunity) ?

Who said, I live in TO?

I would move to Montreal if circumstances allowed.

I didn't say you lived in Toronto, I said the armpit of Toronto.

Your location says ''In da Hood of the Hammer''.

I took that to mean Hamilton, please accept my apology if I misunderstood what you meant.

This decision is just a cash grab by the team because the Blue Jays will make more revenue from playing the games in Philly.
Philly sells out 44,000 seats every game whereas the series if it was played in Toronto would have attracted maybe 70,000 for all three games. If Halladay doesn't pitch in one of the three games it would have dropped attendance a lot lower.
Jays will likely get the bulk of the revenues generated from the gate in Philly.

Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
Fuck all 19 of them, send them back home. That part of the city will be a ghost town just because of those a-holes coming for 2 days.

All the bars/restaurants in that area have to close their patios from the 15th to the 30th. WTF they're only here for 2 days.

What makes you think he lives in Hamilton ?

Note; I understand that Hammer is a Hamilton nickname.

That is why. ;)

Like I said, I could be wrong, but that was my reasoning for my statement.

If Hamilton is SO BAD WHY are more and more Hogtowners moving HERE? Might be the cheaper priced housing for one.
