Dave - Being poor doesn't make you honourable, and neither does being rich. But if you get to you late 20s and don't show much progress, the girls loose interest.
One of lady friends told me that she'd choose bread over love ...
I know it's sad, but she seems to have spokened about the harsh reality that we live in ...
I don't mean to sound "self-righteous", but ... I really have thought about going to Thailand to be a monk who has nothing but my mind and Buddhism ... hehehe ...
Jed Clampett from "The Beverly Hillbillies. Played by Buddy Ebsen who died last sunday.
Well, the first thing you know, old Jed's a millionaire
Kin folk said, Jed, move away from there
Said, Californy is the place you oughta be
So they loaded up the truck and they moved to Beverly
Hills, that is, swimmin' pools, movie stars
You would like him SD. He had a shit load of money, but still lived by this hillbilly code, innocent and honest, surrounded by the high rolling sharks in Beverly Hills.
The funny part about this fish out of water story was that even though the guy went from extreme rags to riches, he always kept from getting eaten by the sharks by dumb luck and ill timed schemes. It sounds like you want to be able to live like this. Only problem... it's f**king TV, not real life.
Good luck, Dave. Hope you get a job soon. Of course you could always cop out like me and attend graduate school.
