Thanks. I was wondering who to let know since I've received a whole bunch of emails and I'm not a customer of theirs.

The other one going about is ebay...asking that you confirm your credit card # / expiry date.
Unreal that some people are so f*cking stupid that they actually respond to these emails.

I got one too

I did nothing with the email - received it last night. The letter-head looks official so I planned to contact TD Canada Trust to figure out it's legitimacy. I use Canada Trust and Easy Web so despite being skeptical - I didn't automatically delete it.

"Dear TD Canada Trust customer,

TD Canada Trust Protection Department requests you to start the client details confirmation procedure. By clicking on the link at the bottom of this letter you will get all necessary instructions how to start and complete the confirmation procedure. The following steps are to be taken by all customers of the TD Canada Trust.

TD Canada Trust Protections Department apologizes for the inconveniences caused to you, and is very grateful for your cooperation.

To start the confirmation procedure, click the following link:

I did fall for one once. It was from what appeared to be my bank.

I was making changes to my account around the same time, so I thought it was really from my bank.

After I made the mistake, I went into my bank, and was given a new set of passwords and a new ATM card.

I thought I'd select a PIN# that I could easily remember and that reminded me of Great Bear.

Here's my PIN# 0000
Instead of where I make my usual deposit (in the woods) I will make a similar deposit in your account.

Now why would you say that and be so mean to me after I was nice enough to give you my PIN# ????????

I just got my first one yesterday and I knew it was a scam since the banks never ask for personal info like that via internet. So I responded to the originator and told him/her to go fuck themselves and get a job, you fuckin' loser and leech.

Still waiting for their response, hope I get one. They don't want to hear my next response. :D

way out in left field
Just a word of caution, these phishing emails come from all financial institutions, and aren't limited to Canadian Banks.

Just think of all the idiots out there who actually DO respond to them? Think of the millions of dollars they scam every day....
