I've got a stupid question, hope someeone can help answer.

In the movie Pitch Black, the charactor Johns that plays the bounty hunter, its where he was looking through a monoscope/monoculars then turns around pointing his shotgun at someone.

My question is what type of brand name is the monoscope/monocular?

I like it because its compact, now the part where it zooms in could be fake cause of the movie, anyways I like the monoscope/monocular, I would like to know where I can buy one?

Would like to know exactly the brand name of it? If not something similar to it.

Thanks for the help if possible!

LMAO, dude, you're serious right? Hell, if you saw it in a movie it's GOT to be available at Canadian Tire.....right?

SHit, I was at a bike show this past spring and saw the hoverbikes from the movie The Island.....

Anyhow, I think you're talking about a night vision appliance and I highly doubt that you can find one that compact. Even the troops in Iraq are still using the large bulky ones.....

I don't particularly remember the scene but you could also be talking about the acog rifle sight.

Most of the monoculars I've seen are several thousand dollars. Check B&H (just search night vision). These guys sell just about everything when it comes to cameras and other assorted optics.

Yeah, they have one....for $6700.00 US...now where did I park my hoverbike?

LOL!!!
Thanks for the help everyone!
I just like gadgets, that's all.
If its expensive then I'm not going to buy it, I'm not that crazy.
Still, I would like to know if anybody knows what's the brand name and/or model?
Thanks again!

Most laser/night visions, etc scopes in movies are waaay too advanced for today's technology. Add in the fact that the movie is in the "future" and your chances of it having an actual model number, is almost zilch. If there was a model/brand, it would have been clearly evident because it would have been a product placement.

btw...i'm also looking for the holodeck technology seen in those star trek movies...does anyone know who makes them? :p ...i'm gonna open my own incall agency with them..he he he BBFS!!!

Go to active surplus on Queen st. They have some russian night vision units. I think they are under $1000.

Thanks!

Once again thanks for the help!
I'm starting to wonder if it is classified as a scope/spotting scope?!
Anyways, I have powerdvd and it captures, how do you obtain the pic?
It's set to save on clipboard, dont know about the other features.
How do I obtain it? Cause I want to post the pic of the scope from Pitch Black.
Thanks again!

Easiest way is to use the printscreen button and then paste it into word, photoshop or ???

Make sure the video size is set to max tho, otherwise you'll get a tiny pic....
