So me and some buddies are headed down to Pittsburgh next weekend for a guys weekend. We're goin to the Steelers game obviously, but we are wondering what else there is to do in that city.

We're all mid 20's, looking to have fun and meet women and just be belligerent idiots. We are staying right downtown so I'm assuming we are close to the action.

What is a must see or do?

Oddly enough, my appetite is no longer large enough to finish more than half of one of their sandies.

But it is so worth going.

hang out at the tilted kilt across from heinz field you will not be disappointed. I went to pittsburgh the weekend of Oct 16 with my brother we saw Utah v U of Pitt, Sabres v Pens and Jags v Steelers. Great weekend. And one of the best bar areas I found was the area around PNC park and Heinz Field also the area around the Heinz Theatre has some great restaurants. on the South side the area around the South side station is good.

Well they aren't meeting women and being belligerent places but: The Forks State Park - food for thought as to all that as transpired there at the forks of the Ohio (Fort Duquesne & Fort Pitt). Mount Washington - great view of downtown and the forks, Carnegie-Mellon Museum

I've been to Pittsburgh before.

Here are my impressions:

1. It's dead at night. Completely and utterly dead.
2. I arrived on a Friday night with a buddy at about 9 p.m. on a Friday. We stayed downtown at the Ramada (if memory serves). I asked the girl at the desk, "where is a good restaurant near by" Her answer was (shocked)., "now?' "There's nowhere that is open at this time" I was like, "It's 9 p.m., surely to god there must be some restaurant open?" "Not now" she says. I didn't believe her so my friend and I walk around for at least an hour and not only was there no restaurant open, there was NO-ONE on the streets and everything was closed.
3. Next day, the downtown core was much better, lots of shoppers and surprisingly nice architecture
4. I was told by a guy who lives in Pittsburgh that if you're looking for fun and bars and restaurants - you have to head out to the suburbs (seriously)

Anyway, everything you love and enjoy in Toronto - you will not find in Pittsburgh. Now, I'm not saying it's a dump, because it's not. But it is surprisingly dead downtown after hours.

Consider this another vote for Primanti Brothers. Gotta get a sandwich with fries on it. The location on the strip is a classic.

And if you're into culture and all that junk, the Andy Warhol Museum is fantastic.

Pittsburgh is my hometown, so let me give you my advice:

1. The local hobby site is www.usindys.com
2. Best clubs near town are in the Strip District (also home to the original Primanti's). This is a short walk or very short cab ride from most hotels.
3. Just across the Monongehela river is Station Square, which is a great place to meet and bang the 35 -45 year old divorcee crowd...always fun
4. Bars on the North Side(by the stadiums) are hit and miss, you might get lucky if its a Steeler weekend

Hope the Pens are in town, they are worth the ticket even without Sid and Geno, good luck to the rest of the NHL if they both stay healthy.

Have a great time and report back.

Ps. If you need specific provider recommendations feel free to pm me.
5. If you are with your buds, i would go to the Rivers Casino on the North Side
