So under Nottyboi's theory, it isn't until 2467 that anything happens?

Somehow I doubt that many Sephardim from Canada, the U.S.A. or the Netherlands are going to take advantage of the offer, unless in the first two cases you want to work in the E.U.

My Portuguese neighbors tell me every year that they will return to Portugal. Some have been saying this for 20 years. I tell them "go already". It will be hard but Canada will survive without you.

what does that have to do with anything? People were wronged and until their grievances are settled there will be no peace.
They voluntary left to make way for the Arab Armies to attack Israel.

And since then have refused to meet the conditions set out in resolution 242 for their return. Namely, they must agree to live at peace, but through their universally recognized representatives they have been adamant that they are not.

There first had to be a historic wrong to correct. The claim that Israel wronged the Palestinians has been thoroughly debunked.
Only by Israel, when people leave for WHATEVER reason in times of chaos, they do not sacrifice their property rights.

You do not need representatives, people can be dealt with on an individual basis, but Israel has refused to even entertain any such possibility.

No one has asked them to. Every peace offer by Israel has included compensation for lost property.

I note that Arab countries never extended any compensation offer to Jews. For example, neither Jordan nor the PLO ever offered compensation to Jews who lost homes that ended up on the Arab side of the ceasefire lines. Aren't the Jews entitled to benefit "when people leave for WHATEVER reason in times of chaos, they do not sacrifice their property rights."

Are you a hypocrite?

Actually, it is the Palestinians who have insisted on using representatives. When Israel attempted to reach settlements with individual families on a case by case basis the PLO grieved it to the UN, and the UN agreed that the problem needed to be resolved through negotiations.

I'd like to believe you, but you have showered us with so much horseshit I would like to see proof. I was not able to find any evidence of this after some googling.

Israel was settling with Palestinians by building them homes in Gaza to replace property they lost elsewhere. Even where the Palestinians individually accepted this as settlement the PLO objected and got a UN resolution requiring Israel to return those Palestinians to the refugee camps.

"Recalling the provisions of paragraph 11 of its resolution 194 (III) of 11 December 1948 and considering that measures to resettle Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip away from their homes and property from which they were displaced constitute a violation of their inalienable right to return;

1. Calls once more upon Israel to desist from removal and resettlement of Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip and from destruction of their shelters;"

http://unispal.un.org/UNISPAL.NSF/0/1EEFEB4320DA98CC052568080052C9A0

So the Palestinians and the UN do not accept that Israel can negotiate compensation with Palestinians individually, and even where those Palestinians are happy with the offer calls it a violation
