While I'm still reading the book The Natashas: The Global Sex Trade the book states that what ever or where ever brothel/bar the woman are sent to 1 woman a week has an abortion because the 'pimps' don't allow the woman to use protection.
Plus, from what I have read from the book, the Russian woman have ALOT to complain about and they are FEARFUL of giving out their 'pimps' name/address etc. because of fear of death to themselves or their families back home.

I think this Russian Journalist needs to read the book cause he sure as hell sounds (talks) like the 'pimps' in the book. I wonder....
