I know this thread is about election in the U.S. but if you excuse me I hope I
can convince folks to vote for candidates who are saving our climate for real.

Support the Green Party of Canada for your children's future in
the next election in Canada. And if you are in the U.S. support
Bernie Sanders not Biden.

The Green Party has much to say down here as well, but the Ralph Nader debacle leading to a second term for Dubya has left a bad taste in a lot of Libs mouths, or at least a very cautious attitude...

I think OP was talking about a Canadian election.

Very unlikely Sanders ever runs for President again.

In her last public speaking engagement Marjorie Taylor Green said she would have armed the Jan 6 patriots. That would have caused a spectacular bloodbath, mostly from friendly fire. She called for another rally and only 12 people showed up - filth-mongering has it's virtues.

Forget Ron De Santis a Star is Born! The GOP representative from Nassau County may not be named George Santos, it's been suggested that his actual name is Anthony Devolder. Who knows, he's prime Presidential material, the GOP should support him to the hilt.

Didn't MTG also say that if she had joined they would have won the insurrection?
Then goodbye Jewish Space Lasers, hello Marge.

Please stop supporting this insanity NDP enough with the liberals

I think Singh's concerns over the privatization of healthcare is a serious issue. This whole thing with allowing user fees and other stuff for front of the line access is a slippery slope. I mean, we can all agree that our system isn't perfect. There are obvious flaws and inefficiencies, but show me where privatization has actually reduced costs or improved services? Can anyone show me that? I mean, the premise is that a private company will come in and figure out a way to do a procedure cheaper. Let's say its a blood test that the government pays $10 per test for today. So, the private company figures out a way to shave three bucks off. But....where do they make their profit? They need to show a ROI, so they keep the three bucks...or maybe make it five, so they get more cash.

The conservative fixation with privatizing everything is just horrible. We've seen it in the US, where they've outsourced so many government things, like private prisons. Are they any cheaper than a state-run prison? Depending not he study you either see some savings or a wash, but the private prisons are significantly more violent than publicly managed ones. And, then there is the issue about incarceration rates. Private prisons need a constant stream of prisoners. So, maybe they grease the wheel of justice to make sure more people are convicted or forced to take plea deals...Heck, there was a famous case in I believe Pennsylvania where a youth court judge got kickbacks for sending kids to the private jail....which he did for even the most minor of infractions. That ruined lives...

I think we need to overhaul our system to find better ways of doing it. But the Ontario government's budget underspent by something like $7B, money that could be used to improve healthcare and education. Change needs to come, we need more nurses and doctors to help address the massive surgical backlog that the pandemic created. I honestly don't know why they don't have operating rooms running seven days a week. I mean, they have MRI appointments at all hours...

Change does need to come, the problem is Ford is that last person who should make those changes

Especially when it is going to line the pockets of his supporters. The privatization of healthcare is something EVERYONE should be up in arms about. It is a slippery slope, and Trudeau and the Feds need to force Ford's hand.

As a practical matter, the Conservatives should give the NDP a large sum of money so that they can afford an election. It's the only way one will take place at the right time. I haven't researched the legal implications of doing so. Would it break any electoral finance laws for one party to finance another?

I think it would.
I'd be interested if someone could verify that, though.

Why would they?
NDP policies are finally being enacted through the partnership.

It's true, Jagmeet's never had so much power as he does now. It may hurt him in the next election as he loses votes to the Liberals but that's ok, as long as Pee Pee doesn't win.

I think NDP supporters are happy with this arrangement and most lib supporters as well.
Shit is getting done.
