I know it's not going to happen since we don't have the type of money he wants, but wouldn't that be sweet if we did acquire him? Just imagine, Lind,Bautista,Fielder and Lawrie what a pitchers nightmare.

And then they sign Ty Cobb's ghost to bat clean-up

Has about as much chance as Fielder

Never happen, we dont a first baseman, we need 1 thing only...PITCHING, starting and bullpen. We dont any positiona lplayers with maybe the exception of 2nd base. If the jays are gonna start throwing money around, which i cant see, it better be on PITCHING.

The Blue Jays/Rogers do have the money.
But, I'm always apprehensive about a 1B NL slugger switching to the AL.
And, his weight/body type scares me even more.

I think with 1-yr under Lind's belt as 1B, he should have a monster season in 2012.

It wasn't his 1st base place I am worried about. It's his bat. I started off well and then totally vanished in the second half...taking Bautista along with him. I think during one broadcast they mentioned that he was actually hitting better when he was playing 1st base than when he was DH'ing. I'm not sure I have confidence that he's the bat behind Bautista going forward. Aside from that breakout season a few years back, his numbers have been mediocre...
