Since you think these guys are so amateurish, why don't you show us what you think is professional and don't say Stantillo. We all know how professional his photos are.big dogie said:well the three suggested so far are very amateurish ........... lighting is very important and none of these have learned the basics yet

You can't possibly be serious! Unlike many of the people who pass themselves off as photographers on the web, both Rex and Norm actually make a living at photography under their real names out there in the real world, and have for years and years. Get a grip! And learn how to spell while you're at it!big dogie said:well the three suggested so far are very amatureish ........... lighting is very impotant and none of these have learned the basics yet

Well said, and budget is usually an issue and if budget is not an issue, I recommend the best in the city, if not country:sensual lady said:Everyone has their own style and way of doing things.
Well they should upload some pictures to their web pages to prove that!Sardonicus said:Norm Cheung and GRS gets my vote. And they DO understand lighting.
Well I guess you don't believe in freedom of speech....... just because someone is a nice guy dosn't make him a professional photographer.... BUT you made my point for me "wanna be photographers" I need not say moreMorgan Ellis said:Oh, good grief. Glenn's work is excellant, his rapport with his subjects is fantastic, and he's willing to try anything. He doesn't bring a pre set 'I'm the photographer, so you just shut up and look pretty while I shoot you' attitude to the set. He's diligent, affordable, and creative. I say anyone willing to slam his work, or that of others, should either be willing to put up examples of their own, or stfu.
Best of all, I can refer other women to Glenn without having to worry that he'll spend the entire time trying to convince them to 'offer him a little something' in exchange for his work, which is more than you can say about three quarters of the wanna be photogs out there who are contstantly offering their services free of charge to SPs.
He's even willing to put up with me constantly tormeting him during shoots, which should tell you what a patient and long suffering saint he is

Without naming names of course, why is it that people who own a camera think they're a photographer? Very childish imo to slam other peoples work just because you don't like it. Everyone has their own style and way of doing things.
I am sure most if not all I saw on his page was done 1/20th of your estimate outside of his fee's of course...... yes I don't think you all understand lighting look at some of the masters stuff like Rembrant or DaVinchey how they light their subjects the odvious mistakes you all are advertising is showing ignorance of the art, thus unprofessional........grsphoto said:Shin's work is awesome... and I am sure the production budgets for his shoots are in the $50,000 range.
As for professionalism, what it comes down to are your clients happy. I seem to be doing alright in that regards. As a photographer I can take that people don't like my style or my images...I realy appriciate honest critiques... that is how I grow... I would be really worried if everyone liked what I did...
But when you say that Norm or Rex don't understand lighting?
grs
(this is about production Budgets and Shin's work) I would be surprise if 1/20 of my estimate (1/20 of $50,000= 2500 if my math is right) would cover the cost of catering of cast, client and crews on his level of shoot. When you start to work at the level he is at the expenses are high, but so is the pressure.big dogie said:I am sure most if not all I saw on his page was done 1/20th of your estimate outside of his fee's of course......
