Q: Mouse resolution and screen resolution

Screen resolutions are getting larger.

Is it better to have a less precise mouse?

A cheap mouse, for example, has 800 dpi, while a gaming mouse has 2000 dpi.

Does the higher mouse resolution mean that you have to move it more to traverse the screen (thus causing more fatigue)?

the higher mouse resolution means how much more responsive it is.
so when u move the mouse to a certain area on your screen, that quicker it will respond as well as the acturacy goes up.

i have a gaming mouse which i use for everything especially wen i am editing videos and such

And to add to the confusion they now have a 'laser' mouse, that you can vary how responsive you want it to be.

depending on what you do, and play.

High DPI mouse is great for Photoshop, and also Great for Gaming. If you are a FPS type of gamer you want a high DPI mouse for those headshots, and better response.

So think of it this way, anything that requires fine detail or precision targeting you should go for a high dpi mouse.
