The truth or dare routine is a good start
Include humour as women want to laugh so give them a reason. Even corny humour works.
After I made them laugh, complimented her in a personal way IE compliment her style in clothing or hair as that is complimenting her taste, I pretend I am reading something on my fore arm and say to myself Ok I complimented her, made her laugh, I did that I did that whats next, oh yeah show her how intelligent I am.

When I was working in Brisbane in sub tropical Australia, we Canadians would get teased for talking about the weather.
Down there it is a weather forecast usually something like: Fine, fine, fine, cloudy, fine.
We had to explain in Canada there are times the weather materially affects what you will do in a day.
They would get a look of horror when you explained to them what freezing rain was.
Weather to my surprise is a plentiful topic, at least during snowstorms, floods and what not. People seem to bond on this topic very easily. I guess it is a bad topic for real conversation, but for many basic situations it works. As as aside people dont like to talk much anymore with phones and what not.
It's been my experience that most sex workers don't like to talk about their personal stuff unless you're a regular, and even then they may be quite guarded...
