Does anyone have any experience using the Fit games? I am trying to get into shape, and am seriously thinking about buying the Wii just for the Fit game. It's a huge expense for me, and I just want to know if it's worth it. Specifically, does is it rigourous enough to provide a good workout, while making it fun at the same time? And does it retain its entertainment value over time, or does it get boring?

I would save your dead presidents, it's fun but not a serious workout - buy a bike or a good pair of shoes instead.

Wii Fit will not get you into shape. Only you can do that.

Wii Fit is to exercise as Guitar Hero is to playing guitar. It's fun to pretend but that's about it.

You know what? That parody is actually pretty accurate. The exercises are so limited as to be fairly useless. The only value that it may have is to get you up off the sofa. If you are obese and merely break the sit on the sofa and stuff your face habit with Wii Fit, then you will lose weight. If you are looking for serious exercise, look elsewhere. I'd say spend the money on a good pair of shoes and join a learn to run class at the running room.

I know some people that would be drenched in sweat after playing wii table tennis.

its not going to make you stronger, but if you get into it you can work up a sweat and improve cardio

It would be better than nothing and if you are the type who cannot self-motivate to exercise it can at least help get you moving. Still not a substitute for a real program tho'
