Question about VPN

Say you have a regular internet connection and sometimes you connect to your company's network via VPN.
If you go to your company's intranet site, obviously it will be accessed via the VPN connection.
However, if you surf to a public site such as terb, how do you know if it goes through VPN or not?

As a rule, when you are connected to the VPN all internet traffic is through the corporate internet gateway. Right click on the VPN connection in the lower right of your screen and select STATUS then SUPPORT tab and then DETAILS. Look at things like gateway and compare this to your regular connection and you will see that internet traffic goes through their systems. Depending on the content management software being used, it may also block access to certain web sites.
