Question/Help - IE 7 Java Script

So far it is not a big deal or a problem, but it's nagging me.

I have 2 machines I use interchangebly. One with Windows XP Home, one with Windows XP Professional.

XP Home machine has IE 7.0.5730.11 - everything working fine, but GUI has a slightly differnt look - more similar to IE 6.

XP Pro machine has IE 7.0.5730.11 (same version - differnt look in XP)

Now the odd thing. I think it is Java related? Simplest example is none of the advertising banners on TERB appear in the browser on the XP Pro machine, but do on the XP Home machine.
The Pro machine has Norton IS running. Disabled Norton and no difference. The XP-Home machine does not have NIS running on it.
Both have installed Sun Java updates. I seem to notice this started on the XP Pro machine since the last Java update.

Any ideas?

funny...

you may want to check both machines for the settings...
go in IE7 under Tools/Advanced.
You will see a bunch of check boxes, maybe you'll find a difference there.

Also check the security level, as some activeX controls and scripts (as Java) can be disabled.

Other than these two ideas I do not see - besides reinstalling the software (ok, i know, this answer works all the time with MS products...).

Go under Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced Tab

Also on Internet Options you can play around with the security levels for Internet, Local intranet, Trusted sites and Restricted sites.

Alternatively, you can Restore Advanced Settings to make them both the same.

Thanks guys!

Checked Java control panel too - still no joy. No idea what it is. It's not causing me any issues really, and I only notice it on TERB, as the familar ad banners don't show in the message board, but do on the front page okay.
If I'm bored one of these days, I may try re-installing explorer for the hell of it.
Cheers!
