Sad, but no surprise. The guy who placed the bomb on the Air India flight was refused entry to the U.S. but Canada welcome him with open arms. There was also a rumour that Roman Polanski's first choice of country to flee to was Canada but he somehow ended up in France.

This rumour was years ago. Apparently, he wanted to flee as quickly as possible to a foreign country and then make good his escape to a 3rd country (France?). The closest foreign countries reachable by auto were Mexico and Canada.

Usually, it is convicted murderers and accused murderers like Charlie Ing and "Bambi" who escape to Canada.
