Have had trouble since Monday the red power button is now off and comes on 2-3 times per day for about 5 seconds. Cannot turn TV on. It's only 14 months old but of course the warranty is 12 months.

Any suggestions? It was a gift so I don't mind spending a bit to get it fixed but not so much as a new set would cost.

Usual crap to be tried first:
1) Is the power plug connected securely at both ends.
2) Try a different wall plug
3) Unplug it from the wall for ~10 minutes (on some equipment this causes a reset).
4) Will it turn on from a remote? if yes, did you lock the front panel buttons? <- check with the manual how to turn this off.
