I am looking to buy some SD cards for my camera. There are so many different brands out there (SanDisk, Kingston, Kingmax, OCZ, Lexar, etc...)

Are they all pretty much the same? Or are some recommended than other brands? I don't mind paying extra for piece of mind. I hate losing pictures because of a bad card.

Thanks

They are pretty much the same just to hold files, pictures, and music

I prefer Kingston, Just remember to keep it away from magnetic stuff like purse clips, on your computer tower or even the laptop. once its near something magnetic your fucked. I learned that the hard way from floppies.

If it's for a camera..check your manual to see what the max SD card size is.

Some cameras do not support the larger 2 gig sizes and beyond.

As for brands stick with the majors..they offer guarantees and are better than the no names usually.

The write times can vary a lot from one card and manufacturer to another, from 5 to 25 MB/second.
Generally, you get what you pay for.
If you're into shooting a fast sequence of continuous shots, don't get a slow card.
