Recording a live concert online.

If I listen to a broadcast of a recording is there any way to record(essentially download)it at the same time so it is on my hard drive? Are there any media players with this feature? Any help would be most appreciated!

The only way that I know it can be done is if you have 2 sound cards in your computer, using one as your playback device, and from that soundcard, plug the line out into the line in on the other sound card, the second sound card is used as your recording device, where you would run a wave recorder.

that would record the audio only

or... if you wanted to record the audio & video.. that could be done if you had an S video or an rca video output on your video card, you could plug that into your video capture card... just make sure that you have lots of space on a hard drive

Stream ripping basically means taking the digital stream being fed to your player and dumping it to a disk file at the same time allowing to you re-play it later.

Also, Some creative labs cards have a "what you hear" channel that lets you effectively record whatever passes through the sound card. It works really well, but be aware that any other windows noises get recorded as well.

I am just curious.. I have 2 soundcards on my computer & have never tried to record anything
