R.I.P. He was awesome. I heard the funniest damn clip of him on Howard Stern this morning where Garver was asking him all those dumb questions they used to ask, and he was so starved for attention, the poor bastard kept answering them. Awesome, simply awesome.

What will JJ Walker do now....
His hope for a comeback is dashed now that a reunion of"Good Times" is on hold permanently.

Rerun did his own version of the "Hey Hey Hey" that Bill Cosby gave to Fat Albert.

Rerun was more like"Hey HEY hey"

...or hey hey-hey. Notice the dash, making the speaker say the second and third hey's with less of a pause than between the first and second. Therefore DenWa was correct.

No I do believe Quirt's interpretation is more correct...there was a definite emphasis on the second hey and it was pronounced slightly different. It was more like "hey HAY-hey". DenWa is also correct in that it was not a "Fat Albert' straight hey, hey, hey...

I totally agree, The Doctor. I was just defending DenWa's interpretation as not being from Fat Albert as others had intimated.

Ah. Discussing the intricacies of cliche sayings from 1970's TV shows. Is there anyhing that TERB doesn't do? :D

Man....I can't believe we've got two pages of discussion on Hey HEY-Hey.

I actually sat here and debated how to write the phrase before I went with the hey hey-hey...

I think the best way to do it after further thought would be to combine my way and Quirt's way together into hey HEY-hey...

Yes, it was Duane who said it. But when I heard Rerun was dead it was the first thing that came into my mind.

Check this out from www.tvparty2.com

"Fred Berry (Re-run) became a Baptist minister preaching in Madison, Alabama. He legally changing his name to Rerun and turned up as himself on an episode of Martin in the nineties. In 2002, Rerun announced that he had lost 100 pounds; he was seen most recently in Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, Star Dates and Scrubs.

Married a total of six times to four women, Berry died of natural causes in his LA apartment on Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at age 52. He had been ill because of a stroke."

The fat bastard was a horny son of a gun! Should have tried SP's instead of matrimony!
